We made it through supply shopping, barely. Thanks to TARGET, I had to shop elsewhere- I chose poorly. Office Max seemed like it would be a good place to try. It wasn't. Not that it didn't have what we needed- it did. But not a discount price in sight. $5.69 for a box of 64 crayons. I also had to purchase ink for our stupid printer and I cursed TARGET under my breath when the total came to 112 dollars. ONE HUNDRED AND TWELVE DOLLARS!!!!! Fifty of which was spent on school supplies. And that wasn't even her whole list. I had managed to save her left-over supplies from last year. GAds.
I had to pull the girls aside no less than three times to chew them out for begging/bickering/bugging behavior. They honestly seemed surprised each time. My head nearly exploded.
After I survived this ordeal I had planned to reward myself with a stop at HomeGoods- I had been there recently and had noticed a lovely oval yellow with white polka-dot casserole pan. I couldn't get it out of my mind and so even though I had spent ONE HUNDRED AND TWELVE DOLLARS!!!!! at Office Max, I was bound and determined to spend 12.99 on this lovely ceramic slice of heaven. (I have a problem with polka-dots). Since HomeGoods was located a block away, I had but a moment to declare the following to my lovelies, "HomeGoods is full of very lovely things, NONE of which I will be buying for you." I figured that said it all but I still got one very loud, "I hate you!" followed by an equally loud footstomp by youngest offspring in the very crowded checkout line. It is moments like those that a Mom just can't put a price on. But I have my lovely casserole and it will forever remind me of the precious memories we made that day. I'm making an apple crisp in it today. I will photograph it so you can enjoy its sunny yellow disposition.
